Hey, Hey, Hey,

July 15, 2025 — here we are, the middle of summer. Seasonality is a curious thing! Take a breath. No need to panic over the passing days of summer—this is simply your gentle nudge to notice them. What are your hopes and desires for the days still to come, quietly unfolding in this season?

Some seasons whisper instead of shout. Summer is one of them—a soft invitation to pause, look around, and actually feel the day.

What’s prompting you to slow down this week? Maybe it’s the way sunlight spills across your kitchen floor in the morning, or how a walk at golden hour makes everything feel softer. Maybe it’s the memory of your younger, summer-loving self.

This is your reminder to do something just for you this week—something simple, unrushed, and good.

Maybe it’s grabbing coffee with that friend you haven’t seen in far too long. Maybe it’s browsing for a summery top that makes you smile—and just so happens to bring out the color of your eyes. Or maybe it’s carving out five quiet minutes to sit in your favorite chair and rest.

Fill your cup, my friend.

Let this be the week you choose something unhurried.

There’s something about summer that invites us to slow down, savor the little things, and surprise someone with a simple act of kindness. Maybe it’s the longer evenings, the smell of sunscreen, or the fact that a walk around the block with a popsicle in hand suddenly feels like a tiny vacation.

So, whether you’re dropping off a just-because gift or wrapping something thoughtful for a friend’s birthday, why not make the wrapping part of the magic?

Enter: the tea towel. It’s practical, adorable, and totally reusable. And best of all, it gives your gift that “I really thought about you” charm—without any extra waste.

I mean, hello—why does gift wrap that gets thrown in the trash cost an arm and a leg? I’ve got the perfect, easy gift wrap solution for you.

How to Wrap a Gift with a Tea Towel and Ribbon

What You’ll Need:

  • Tea towel

  • Gift (like a picture frame or book)

  • Ribbon or twine

Steps:

  1. Lay the towel flat with the design facing down.

  2. Place the gift diagonally in the center (so the towel looks like a diamond).

  3. Fold the bottom and top corners over the gift.

  4. Tie the side corners in a knot or bow at the center.

  5. Wrap with ribbon or twine for a polished look.

  6. Add finishing touches like a sprig of rosemary or a gift tag under the ribbon.

Tips:

  • Works best with rectangular or square gifts.

  • Choose a towel that fits the size of your item.

  • The towel becomes part of the gift—both useful and decorative.

Lady K’s One Thing:

This oh-so-delicious recipe for Salty Pretzel Rye Chocolate Chip Cookies. Sweet, salty, and a little bit nutty—these cookies are like a classic chocolate chip with a twist. The rye adds depth, the pretzels bring the crunch, and the whole thing tastes like your favorite childhood snack just grew up (in the best way). The recipe I used was from Tieghan’s Cook Book - this is the most similar recipe I found - Salted Pretzel Cowboy Party Cookies. - Half Baked Harvest. Omit the coconut, if desired.

Goodness Gracious Great Balls of Fire,
